DAILY EXCURSIONS
We’ve been home for about two weeks now and we’re still trying to find our new normal. What was “normal” for us pre-cruise and now seem to be two different things……. Maybe once we establish regular sleeping habits, everything will fall into place. For now, I miss someone cooking every meal for me and doing the grocery shopping; making my bed for me every morning and tidying my space; taking out the trash, entertaining me and providing turn down service every night! I miss the rocking of the ship and how the rocking helped me sleep. Mostly, I miss the endless chocolate chip cookies! Ha!
For now, we are establishing new routines. We both take daily walking excursions - sometimes by ourselves, but usually with our furry friends. Mark takes excursions several times a week to the local bridge club to satisfy his bridge fix. I have been making many excursions to the garden center and Lowe’s to pick up plants, pea gravel, mulch, etc. and my gardens are getting spruce up. I haven’t made an excursion to the beach yet, but that is on my agenda for this week.
I’ve also been planning future excursions! I miss my kids and grands terribly and excursions are in the works to visit them soon - Charlotte, Chicago and San Diego are all coming up.
In the meantime, quiet days at home pondering future excursions seem fulfilling enough……
